Investments That Earned Kiefer Sutherland More Money Than His Film Career

Kiefer Sutherland played the daredevil in 24, a movie that got the audiences holding on to the edge of their seats in suspense. The actor who has worked in a lot of stunt movies is also an entrepreneur and has invested in many businesses. The actor is a talented singer and songwriter which is why he decided to create Ironworks Music in 2002 to support aspiring artists.

Ironworks Music was cofounded with Jude Cole, the actor’s best friend. The aim of the label was to help artists’ talent shine without getting pulled into the murky waters of the music industry.

Both founders had a background in music which made it easier for them to work with other artists.  However, Sutherland had to drop in 2009 due to other commitments, leaving Cole on his own. The actor wanted to pursue a solo career in the music industry but his first album missed the mark, forcing him to look for a different career route.

Sutherland also tried his hands in the cattle business with Michael Wayne Carr. Carr promised him a huge profit in return for his investment in the business of buying cattle from Mexico at a cheap rate and selling to Americans at a higher price. It sounded like a lucrative trade at first and the actor decided to bet $869,000 on it. However, the actor lost all his money when Carr was arrested for fraud and his business eventually shut down.
