Five Ways To Make A Date More Fun and Entertaining
Dating can sometimes be excruciating and can leave you feeling even more alone. After countless attempts of trying (and failing) to be in a happy and fulfilling relationship, you would think it’s much better to be alone in bed, enjoying popcorn, and watching your favorite films or series.
But if dating is done right, it can be amazing, and one good date can turn into a meaningful, long-term relationship. Here are ways you can have fun and entertaining dates:
Get to Know Your Friends’ Circle
Friends are those who, other than yourself, would be very happy to see you all giddy and in love with someone. They know who you are and most of the type, the person that matches your personality (that’s why they’re the ones who have the most to say if they don’t like the person you’re dating).
Single people should date someone who is linked to their friends, especially to those who want to be with someone with who they can be comfortable. There’s a great possibility that you’ll be dating someone who has the same interests as you if you have the same circle of friends.
However, keep in mind that this isn’t a sure way of successful dating. You might have thousands of things in common, but even sparks sometimes won’t ignite into flames. The idea here is to lessen the search on finding someone who you could be comfortable with, have a good time hanging out with, and eventually, date.
Trust Your Instinct on the First Date
Whoever said that dating is easy probably didn’t put any effort into any of the dates he’s been in. It can be overwhelming and even stressful (talk about pressure!) because we all want to make a good impression on the first date. And first impressions are very important. It would only take a few minutes for you to decide if you like the person or not (and also for them to know if you’re worth the shot) so you should have all your cards ready to give them a first impression worthy for another date.
Making a connection with your date is basic but also the hardest part of the dating process. There are few things that you need to keep in mind; make eye contact, smile, focus on what your date is saying, and always have the presence of mind (don’t get lost in your imagination or be preoccupied with pressuring yourself to make a good impression). Don’t be too focused on being the best on that person’s eye; you could miss enjoying the moment or might be too busy that you don’t realize you’re not into that person after all.
A lot of people have found their soulmates while sipping some gin at a bar, while a few found them while grooving to the club’s beat. But a club (and the bar) isn’t the only place to find love. As nobody knows where you’ll meet the right one, it’s nice to be spontaneous and let the stars take its course.
Go outdoors, go for a run in the park or attend festivals and events, you’ll sure to find someone you can be interested in. You’ll never know where you’ll find someone that could mean your everything and more. But you don’t have to limit yourself to finding someone to date in one specific place. Love could sprout anywhere; it is up to you to notice.
Don’t Make Your Life an Open Book
Don’t unfold your life on your first date or even share everything there is to know about you in the first month. Dating is interesting when you have things to discover as time passes and thrill is part of the fun. Without it, things can get predictable, dull, and boring. You can even make a sort of game as a couple – perhaps something new to learn about each other daily. You could play a drink and guess the game. Now that sounds fun!
Don’t Let Other People Get in the Way of Your Relationship
We all want to flaunt the person we’re dating but, the fact is, you can’t make an omelet without breaking some eggs. Some people might not approve of the person you’re dating. But that isn’t a battle for you to fight. Maybe they have a good reason, but it’s up to you to decide whether or not you should be with that person.
Remember that a relationship should be between two people and not too many. The minute you let a third person get involved, you’re spelling doom in your love story.
No one knows the key to perfect dating life. There will be hits and misses. At the end of the day, you just have to be with someone who can laugh with you through the mess of it all.
